Kuan Yin Meditation Centre, Lismore
Days/Mornings of Mindfulness take place on Saturday and/or Sunday of the month
Commencing at 9:00am

These Mindfulness Meditation days have been designed for both beginners and experienced meditators. Each day will involve periods of both sitting and walking meditation with instruction and guidance from the teacher, a dharma talk and ending with a group discussion.

The whole day is spent in the silent practice of sitting and walking meditation.

This schedule is subject to change without notice and as such bookings are recommended.

January: Sunday 21st- Sunday 28th
Freedom of the Heart Mind - Insight Meditation retreat with Will James and Subhana Barzaghi, Byron Bay
 

February: Saturday 17th - Meditation in Action 9:30am-1pm
Kuan Yin Meditation Sangha Work Morning
There will be an optional period of meditation practice in the morning from 9-9:30am. The main activities will be working in the gardens and working in the Dojo. Contact: Sue on 02 6624 3505 for more information.

 

March: Friday 23rd - Wednesday 28th
The Path of Awakening A 5 day Insight/Mindfulness/Vipassana Retreat with Ellen Davison
Venue: Sangsurya, Byron Bay
This retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. The retreat consists of meditation instruction with guided meditations, sitting and walking meditation, Dharma talks plus group and individual interviews.

April: Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd
A Weekend non-residential Retreat with Patrick Kearney
Venue: Kuan Yin Meditation Centre

This weekend of Mindful meditation is suitable for beginners and more experienced meditators. Patrick has over 30 years experience in meditation practice and teaching retreats throughout Australia. Patrick emphasises the important of developing independence in practice through the dynamics of meditation and the theory which guides it.

May: Thursday 3rd – Sunday 6th
A residential Zen Retreat (sesshin) with Ellen Davison in Dorrigo.

This sesshin will include meditation instructions, sitting and walking meditation, chanting, Dharma talks, and individual interviews. Ellen is a Zen Roshi within the Diamond Sangha Lineage established by Robert Aitken Roshi.

July: Sunday 22nd Meditation in Action 9am-12pm
Kuan Yin Meditation Centre Sangha Work Morning

A meditation and Sangha work day. This day will combine 1 period of meditation practice in the morning followed by applying one's practice into the activities of everyday life.

July: Monday 30 July to Wednesday 29 August
Supported Solitary Month
Venue: Kallara Conference Centre, Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria

Teachers: Subhana Barzaghi, Ellen Davison, Victor von der Heyde, Mal Huxter, Kirsten Kratz, and Christine Thompson
This supported solitary retreat, offered for the first time in Australia provides a valuable opportunity for experienced meditators to engage in a longer period of intensive personal practice, in the company of others. This retreat is offered to support the broader Australia wide Insight Meditation Community. This retreat is available for one month or two weeks.

August – Saturday 18th Day of Mindfulness with Mal Huxter 9am - 4pm
Mal is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice. He writes and conducts Mindfulness based programs. Mal currently leads workshops and courses in “Mindfulness & the Path of Kindness, Wisdom & Happiness”.

Awakening to Wisdom and Insight
A 6 day silent Meditation Retreat with Ellen Davison and Radha Nicholson
Venue: Sangsurya, Byron Bay

This retreat consists of sitting and walking meditation, open inquiry sessions, group and individual meetings with the teachers, an optional morning yoga period, Dharma talks, and guided meditations.

Hazy Moon Spring Sesshin (Zen Retreat)
A 6 day Zen Sesshin (retreat) with Ellen Davison at Mullumbimby.

This 6 day sesshin will allow and encourage participants to settle deeply into the silence and stillness of the practice and to explore the deeper questions and issues which often arise in the course of one’s life. Ellen is a Roshi in the Diamond Sangha lineage and has been leading sesshin in Australia for over 15 years.
